Current projects for completion in 2018

1948 finish restoration, enter in the tractor show and parade.
1967 Ford 841 - replace camshaft and timing gears, sell for good profit
1940 9N - tear down and sandblast everything, rebuild engine and transmission, set aside for completion in spring of 2019
.
replace injectors in the 2000 VW bug and place on craigslist

build run in shed in the front paddock for the horses

replace the rocker panels and cab corners on my truck, repaint it, or send it out for repaint.

These projects are just what I prepared for this year...........anything can happen and get added to the list at anytime.
Including the fact that I now have a 52 Chevy 3100 to restore, although I am thinking about doing a modern upgrade with a restore chassis and body.

Why does it seem that when you work a 40 hour week, and only have the week-ends to do things, it somehow get's done, BUT,.. when you're retired, there's not enough hours in the day to accomplish 1/4 of what needs to be taken care of ...??? ..:confused2:..:smiley_aafz:

That's cuz when you are at your job, you spend your time thinking about how you are going to get your home projects done in the most expedient way possible.
When you don't have the distraction of a job, you get bogged down in the thought/planning process, grab a beer, and, that's all she wrote for that day!
You begin anew the next day, not being able to remember any progress you may have made the previous day, and repeat the whole schebang all over again, right up to the beer thing.................it's the spinning wheel of no progress....

There was some one on this list, Carscw or Reynoldston from memory who is involved with a charity that provides & repairs power tools for injured veterans & pensioners.
This might be right up your alley and if you are on a fixed income you can "donate" your time thus it becomes a tax reducer.
We have a similar group down here who look after seriously injured fire fighters.
Otherwise get a tax number and become a mower mechanic, if nothing else that will allow you open wholesale trade accounts with Oregon, Prime Line, Stens & Rotary as well as getting trade discounts from people like Jacks Small Engines , Small Engine Warehouse & Messicks.
You seem to enjoy doing this sort of stuff so why not turn it into a business and if it becomes a problem tax wise you can then donate repaired mowers to worth while causes.
I "donate" a free full service to all of the local primary schools and parts to the local Mens Shed Group.

Now if you really want to kill some time, start up a Men's Shed in your local area.

We exported it to the USA a few years back
