Except in elevators
Where the word "Please" turns an unreasonable command into a polite request
Had lots of funny conversations afterI hit the close button just after a cutsie in a short skirt & high heels demanded I "Hold that lift"

Bert,

I would like to comment at this important juncture, that slamming the door in the face of anything cute and in a short dress, just to make the point that she hadn't been polite enough to say "Please", could very well be counter-productive.. .. .. Well, maybe not as far as teaching her some manners is concerned, but as I am ever hopeful when it comes to women, maybe manners aren't all that important, I'm sure you get my drift... Of course if I look back over the last six or nearly seven decades since I first noted the difference between men and women, I can't actually say that being 'nice', or making exceptions for gaffs in manners has ever really "worked" for me, so maybe I should just shut up, or maybe I would have joined in with the 'on-board' elevator conversation. Was it interesting? What was the general opinion? - Should you have held the door, or pushed the 'close' button?

Doc!

A paraphrase of my favorite quote, from my favorite movie - "The Princess Bride" Quote: "My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die!"

Ahhhhh, "True Love" . . . . . . I'm waxing romantic...

If I can not be nice then I do not post. You may now see the post I stopped posting to. I also try not to post to Honda forums because I am almost always wrong. I do not post in Snapper forum. Just do not like the machines. It is just a personal prefrence. That goes for Lawnboy as well. I know how to fix older lawnboys and I think that is why I do not like them.

Those of us on the MTD forum and especially on the MTD Yardman Transaxle Rebuild thread appreciate your kind disposition and professional attitude.. Now if we could just get Boo-Boo to clean up HIS act, we'd be all set...

Little over 25 years ago, my boys and I got caught up in the tractor pulls and modifying older machines.....I stayed away from anything that did not have a frame...and tried not to mess with anything that had a steel rail frame that was bolted or riveted together.....that being said, I loved the old Ford and Jacobson tractors (really the same machines) and I have a few Panzers as well...sure strong machines. I started helping out neighbors by repairing their rider mowers, then their walk behinds then their chainsaws, etc,etc...became an obsession really........made many friends, but made no money. The boys grew up and drifted away into other interests so I scraped 80 percent of what I had and sold the rest to collectors.......now I find myself buying larger machines, got a couple farmalls, a few loboys, a 9N, a case 580 and a yanmar mini excavator......it gets in your blood. Wow, long winded like Rog for a minute:laughing:.....so when I post in someones thread it is because of personal experience not as someone who works for MTD, Sears, JD, etc. just a guy trying to help....that's why I get miffed when someone discredits the comment......anyway.....HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE!!!!!!!

My wife says I am more like Fezzik:laughing: However, I relate well to Westley.
