I do not warranty my used equipment because i sell cheaper to get of them not to get rich. Pushmowers start $40 and Riders start @ $400. Another reason is I dont know if PO take care of the equipment or abused it.

Would you like it if someone sold you something that was no good for any amount of money? Like I said I guess it makes a me a poor business person because I couldn't do it unless they p### me off.

Thats why its sold cheaper cause its sold as is. There other shops in my area that do the same. Used car lots do the same also in the area.

In New York used car lots can't sell cars like that. They must pass a NYS inspection. . Like I said I am very poor at doing business and that is the reason I have always worked for someone else. Just the different between you and me, seeing I would feel sorry for them. Also about the time someone said they were going to sue me is the time I wouldn't do anything for them because then I am P##### off at them.

If someone buys a used mower from you and brings it home to use and it breaks down, just why wouldn't you stand in back of the sale or fix it. I guess its something I just couldn't do. Yes I can see a time limit or if it was miss use. I guess that makes me a very poor business person.
Regarding selling used equipment. I can't guaranty it won't blow up next day. I don't expect a seller to guaranty anything either.
That's the chance you take with used equipment.
For repairs that sentence in italics covers it. Because people can be stupid. I wouldn't patch something up just long enough to get paid. I fix it the way I'd want it fixed if it were mine. But once that machine leaves your possession you have no control over what the owner does to or with it.
Also if something needs extensive work and the owner doesn't pay for it to be fixed correctly then he is on his own.
If I fixed something and the repair didn't last because I screwed up it's a different story.

I sell a lot of mowers like I said with my recipts no warranty as is. But if they come back a day or two later saying its not working ill take a few mins to see what I can do. If they come back a month later I tell them no.... Or if I fix something for someone (which I usually don't I just exchange mowers don't hold onto someone else's property) if I did something and they bring it back saying whatever I just fixed is broke again ill look at it. Can usually tell who's fault it is

Yeah you take them on a case by case basis. Some people want a lifetime warranty!! If they call me a week after they bought the mower I will look at it. If they call me 6 months after I will still look at it............ They will pay for the repairs though....... If they run garbage fuel through it and it won't start that's not your fault. If they didn't check the oil and a year later locked the engine up its not covered. If they bought it a day before and it won't start I will make a house call. I understand the asis warranty. Its just good customer service.

Well for me its just a hobby. I am in no way a repair shop that's why I typically don't hold onto other peoples machines to fix ill buy it from them and sell them a working one. But I also have a heart and depending on the situation ill either help or I won't

If I sell a mower rider/push, I won't sell it if I can't give a 30 day warranty. Like said before word of mouth goes a long way. If the buyer hits a rock, pipe, ect thats on them, but if I sell them a POS thats on me, I don't want that. I sell mowers as if my mother was the buyer. If I take care of the buyer, they tell their friends that I don't sell junk and their friends come to me and buy. Thats the same with service, I will not fix junk, junk is junk. Too much trouble trying to fix something that is too far gone. But that just me!
