Has anyone done the calculation on E-10 vs E-0? Truck I used was a then new 2016 Suburban 5.3 guzzler. E-10 per the onboard computer gets 2-4 mpg less than E-0 regularly. I see the same loss in every car I've driven. There is a noticeable MPG loss using E-10 think we all know this.

What I did was say the truck went 10 miles on one gallon of E-0. Now the truck went 8 miles on E-10. By the time you added enough E-10 to go 2 more miles and meet up with the E-0 distance, you actually "essentially" broke even in money spent. So using E-10 we are NOT saving anything. This is just a simple MPG test. Then back on the mower playground, we all know E-10 is horrible on carbs that set.

I picked up an ultra sonic cleaner after reading more on this forum and I've pulled the carb to clean it.
I'm picking up a new float valve today, along with gaskets and o-ring for the bowl. I hope I can do this, I'm concerned about getting back together. The springs and wires going to the governor! What a pain.

Take copious amount of pictures before and during disassembly for referral.

6 years sober Im not very religious nor do I do meetings. I probably should, I have read the book twice, and I do like the AA concept, millions that it worked for, it can't be wrong. I needed to hear that today. and Im yanking ropes as hard as I can to get back to the country living, its a lost art at this point.You wouldn't believe how many men quietly told me they moved out of the city, and haven't got a clue, and the honesty in their voices floored me. Women would drop off mowers and say "my husband can't do squat, I thought men just knew how to do this stuff". Im thankful I don't say those things or have them said about me. and thank you for the prayer it has me thinking its probably time for a meeting. Stay safe, my man.

You, sir, are 100 correct. Ethanol-blended fuels are less efficient; this is a proven fact. its leaner and contians more oxygen molecules this too is a fact. People will say "well drag cars use it" yes, they do at 100% ethonal and air fuel ratio adjusted accordingly. they also rebuild their engines every few 1/4 mile runs. Ethonal also makes the fuel hygroscopic simply meaning it sucks moisture from ambient air, this is a fact. so if it sits for a while first the light hydro arbons like butane evaporate off thats what gets cold engines started. the ethonal sucks in the water sinks to the bottem. Ethanol is being used to fine-tune our octane numbers, so after sitting 30 days or more, your light ends are depleted, your octane numbers are lowered to the very low 80s, and you have a bunch of water in your gas. Water doesn't burn so well. Ethanol has zero business being blended with our fuel.

I ordered a fiber optic scope to look inside, it should be in early this week. I'm hoping the cylinders are okay. Part of my problem now is me!
I now need to review the throttle return linkage. I move my throttle control lever and the carb doesn't respond. It gradually starts racing and surging.
Some how I have a linkage on wrong. I'm heading out now to review what I have wrong.

I just did a lot of earth moving this past year, putting in drainage pipes. I had a lot of dust, and never thought about it.

I just picked up a coil and gaskets from a local Husqvarna dealer $160. !!!! WOW!!!

Think how much it would cost to have the dealer do the work, then the cost of the parts you picked up will seem like a bargain.
 
Ethanol has a lower heating value of approximately 76,330 Btu per gallon, while gasoline has a lower heating value ranging from 112,114 to 116,090 Btu per gallon.

So, gasoline w/ 10% ethanol has 3–3.4 % less BTUs than straight gasoline.
Ethanol's ability to contain water in solution is temperature dependant. It can contain ~ 0.5% water in solution @ 59 degrees F before separating w/ additional amounts of water.
