I've got a Cub Cadet, and the hose At Top of tank is the Fuel Line. I know, How? There is an extension under that fitting on top of tank that reaches to bottom of tank. Make sure it's all air tight or the Pump will suck air and not gas. Crazy, I know.
I'd like to see a pic of your gas cap. This may be some sort of anti-siphon 'fix' from Cub Cadet.

If you had bother to look up the mower's 951-05101C fuel tank you would had known the fuel exits the bottom of the tank and the top port is a rollover valve with a vent line.

That is just a vent hose and will not keep engine from running. You have some other problem. Give me more info and I can tell you what to do next.

I'm guessing by now someone has mentioned this, but I will go ahead anyway. It's a simple thing of just taking the hose to any auto parts store, tell them it's for the evap system on a mower. They should be able to match up the inside diameter with the bulk hose they have and cut you a piece to the length you need.
The issue is that the original dry rotted into pieces. I have found the original and ordered it, though. Thank you for the input though!

Don't think I haven't been researching the best oil to use! I get super waaaay too in depth on things. This one just flabbergasted me since it's part engine and part mower, so it's confusing lol.

I really appreciate all you guys, and your helpfulness, and the fast responses. This mower seems to almost be a lemon. Have to fix stuff every season
The guys here will indulge you on oil preference! I use.... Nah

It's already dark out tonight, but it attaches to the top of the tank, and then to the carburetor.

And HOPE you have the original carb that came on it, those aftermarket carbs are JUNK. I'd sure go thru your carb with a good cleaning if your prob. is fuel related. If that hose disintegrated, your other rubber hoses probably needed replaced too.

Alright you guys, I have searched forever for this one simple part. I don't know why it's so impossible to find, but it seems to be. I have a Cub Cadet XT1 Enduro 50", and it has been mostly a <fkn> lemon since I've had it (about 9 years?). ANYWAY, I had a hose rot and the mower wouldn't run anymore. So the hose runs to the top of the gas tank, and then into the air filter area. Without it, the engine will run for a bit but then sputter out. My searches have suggested that it's an EPA EVAP hose, but I have been unable to confirm, and unable to find one for purchase. I found what Kohler showed was the part, and the part number, but nobody sold it, and I had to go to China to finally find one. When it eventually came in, it was like 5 inches long. This thing is supposed to be like 4 feet! Can someone PLEASE shed some light on this?! I really need to cut my grass.
Go to auto parts and get a piece of hose.

Speaking of being a <fkn> lemon, I bought a new snowblower 2X 30" and it has had its share of problems. The business I bought it from is great, but Cub Cadet is horrible to deal with. They argue and fight with the dealer on what might be wrong with it and simply refuse to do what the business feels needs done to it. It was literally at the business for warranty from Jan 2024 to Nov 2024!!!!!!! And still not sure anything got fixed. So, I have no choice but to say, "Stay away from Cub Cadet"!

Yes some a royal pain to deal with which is one reason I am a n independent shop. Most OEMs are basically terrible after the sale. If you read the warranties they basically have no responsibility except to replace defective items on the equipment. Even then they will fight you every inch of the way at times.

Just recently had to personally warranty a pressure washer pump with a Simpson pump. Simpson flat refuse to honor their warranty as the they had recently stop manufacturing the pump. Three month into the one year warranty. I found that they had installed a bad piston which took out all the seals including the crankcase seal. I had to eat about $170 in repair parts on a $200 pump. That will be the last Simpson pressure washer pump I buy and sell.

And BTW the local authorize Simpson repair shops had refused to even take the pump in because Simpson refused to pay for warranty that they had already had done.
