Pulled these off a rider this past summer that I had to replace before selling because I couldnt sharpen the blades.

I see about 2 dozen every summer that look like that. Dang MTD blades. Years ago you used blades until you couldn't sharpen them anymore. Now it seems like blades don't even last for a mowing season.

i got my mtd like that! i also got it cheaper then he wanted because the blades we bad like that. when i tried the thing out i put the blades on and mowed a strip of his grass and there was like a 2" strip of grass not cut i told the guy"it doesnt cut in the middle, i'll give you 75 bucks" came back at me for 100 and i said deal. he came down from 350! so the junk mtd blades that wear down like that can save you a couple hundred bucks!

yep same in this part of the world, people just don't like spending money, or they just have no idea of what is going on.

As I recall the last set of MTD blades I bought I can understand why they ran them like that. I don't remember what I paid for them but as I recall they were pricey.

I sharpen mine every week, and clean the deck out while I have it jacked up. If you leave them dull that is what it does to them over time.

The blades in the pic came off of a Sears 38in cut rider. One of the gray ones with no headlights.

I have seen it before with those mulching blades. Mine had them, and they are in the dumpster now they are a pita to sharpen, and get them to balance out right. I changed them out for the standard high lift blades.
