Parking Brake Question MTD J136

When I get off the seat with the park brake engaged and the deck up the engine still stops.

If I push on the brake a bit harder then engine does not stop if i lift off the seat.

It would seem that the brake pedal needs to be held further down when the lever is moved to park

My problem is I cant figure out how to adjust to fix

Can anyone help please

The switch is probably just worn out and needs replacing or there is wear on the mechanical points.

I usually extend the plunger by putting a self tapper in the end of it .
