Nikki carb model 808626, brass or silver float needle question

Engine: Briggs Vanguard 23 hp, Model 380447-0042-E1

Nikki Carb Model 808626

Ordered float needle kit 808798, Kit has 2 needles in it. One brass and one silver. Engine has a new briggs vacuum fuel pump installed. Is the brass needle used in this application?

My problem is that the fuel pump is over powering the silver needle and causing a rich condition at full throttle. Thanks for your time and help.

If the instructions don't describe when one or the other is used, try calling Briggs at (561) 880-4022 and ask them. (8-5 est). If anyone knows, its them.

If one is heavier than the other then use the heavy one first
If the engine faulters after a few minutes at full speed under load then swap them over .

Could have a foul seat too. Not letting the needle seal proper.
