For your info the reason I post this post that way is because I can't post a video here or pictures for that matter, if this forum would work I wouldn't have to use it. I can see you haven't changed. If you don't like the post you don't have to watch it.

That truck is dumb it's bloated, ugly, has a bunch of unnecessary crap. That ladder thing is extra dumb it looks dumb and if you have something up there you can't open the tailgate that guy looked average height he could barely reacg the tie downs. The bed lights are ridiculous make it light up with normal white light make it functional.

Here is what this is. It's a luxury truck it's the kind of truck you own but never use like a truck

What's dumb bloated and ugly is all a matter of opinion. As far as unnecessary crap goes, you can set the truck up or buy what you want on it for your particular use and that would also include the color of the lights and number of tie downs.
I think but not sure but the lift on the back also functions as a step to enter the bed of the truck and I can tell you that's a nice function as well as the power tailgate. There are a lot of people who prefer a luxury package over just a work truck.

If you look and compare the package they show it's probably a nicer package or more luxurious package than most cars you'll find. If you want an Atlas in just the work truck version I assume you can buy it as well as you can in any of the other models available and a lot cheaper than the Luxury model.

The F-150 alone comes in 6 different models and price ranges from the plain work truck to the New Limited Edition. All comes down to use and how much money you want to spend.
I'll let you know how the atlas is in two years, that's when I'll Trade again.

So we have a truck with the frontal area of a New Hampshire barn and they are closing the holes in the wheels to improve the aerodynamics, really ?
20 minutes in mud and they will be toast.
A 30' long "truck" with 3' of load tray.
A 1' thick tailgate that I notice he did not open, probably because you need 4 people to do it if the electric tailgate motor is not working.
Also noticed he did not open the loading ramps which are lower than the tailgate hinge, not quite sure how that one works, but the 1962 Commer Commercial came std with loading ramps that were long enough to be useful.
Didn't see any reversing cameras and considering the height of the tailgate you should have a good 50' invisible zone behind the vehicle so you can smash that tailgate into the bollards you can not see or turn the kids into dog meat.
Did not see the inbuilt crane that would be needed to actually put anything into the tub either.
Millionairs in Hong kong usd to buy Rollers & Pulmans which were parked all day in front of their houses to display their wealth.
Looks like Ford is trying to cash into the same market.

And I sort of fail to see exactly what this has to do with lawn mowing as you would be hard put to get a Lawnboy into the back of that vehicle.
It would also be interesting to see exactly where a towing hitch would go.

The frontal area of the truck is the same as the F-150 and the bed is 5 1/2 ft plus tailgate if needed and the tailgate is little less than 1 foot and can be lifted with one hand and it also has a 360 degree camera that views a lot more than 50' ft. The power tailgate is optional, you can get it either way.

It doesn't have anything to do with with Lawn-care as it has been posted on the Front Porch forum.

If you like the truck or not is really irrelevant. I mean everyone has there likes and dislikes or there favorites that's the reason they make so many different makes and models, same as mowers. Same for Luxury vs a simple work truck. I was just pointing out some things that someone questioned.

Appologies.
Did not notice it was on the spin a yarn section.
Not my cup of tea.
I also noticed the driver was getting directions to get it up a driveway that you could have put a Louiville up blindfolded.
Won't be buying one so really should drop out of this thread.

I guess it's not your cup of tea. Yes I noticed he was getting directions from another person and with with good reason....considering there were no mirrors on the truck, so I guess you could say the guy was driving blind and without the use of mirrors I think they did very well actually.

No mirrors on the off side of a semi when your are reversing either.
Simple rule, if you know you have clear space, run close on the drivers side and the off side will look after itself.
And didn't you just show the computr screen that was supposed to be showing the driver where he was and what is behind.:confused2:
Must be using the same softwear architect as VW and probably running windoze
oops I wasn't going to reply to this thread any more :ashamed:

Well to begin with were not talking about a semi so your simple rule doesn't really apply. Yes it does have a computer screen and a 360 degree camera but like any new computer it's a learning experience, using that computer and what it can and will do vs the older stuff they replaced would be like moving from windows Vista to windows 10, Big Big difference. I'll bet the truck itself and what it does and can do is a learning experience. I've never drove a truck that stops and starts the engine itself when you apply the brakes and gas or that has a 360 degree camera. Can't wait to try one.

No a big big difference. Vista to win 10 not a big reach.
I see you don't let your lack of knowledge on a topic prevent you from having an opinion.
Oh yea, you are an expert in everything.

Hey Captain Obvious, of course the truck will have a learning curve.
Just lining up enough people to help back it up will be time consuming.
Oh yea, that was funny.

Did enjoy looking at the truck and sure would like one but its only a dream, not something for a retired person living on a fixed income. Got any idea what it cost? Sure sounds like some jealousy going on here. It has to be for someone who can afford to live in Florida, own a BMW and can buy a new truck every few years

This confirms everything I thought of you.

Well I don't know what it confirms but I figure I'll have a car payment for the rest of my life and when I can drive or buy a new pick up every two years and have close to same monthly payment why not have a new one. There's a whole $8.00 difference in payment between the 2013 and the 2015.
I really don't see the advantage to paying off any of the new vehicles. The vehicle stays under warranty, I never pay for an oil change, I never buy tires or rims if I have one go bad or blow out. I mean really the payments on a new truck are cheap compared to fixing one that's paid off and not under warranty these days.

I see you used your mod privilege from this site to get my ip address.
Then you banned me from your lawn care site.
You advertising here is like Ford giving free advertising to GM on their website.:confused2:
Or anyone using your sign on your truck to push his lawn business.
I don't give a rats behind about the truck. Your tactics and having to have the last word
is laughable. Telling someone on this forum that "Their opinion is irrelevant" is shameful.
I admire what you have done with your life and how hard you worked to accomplish it.
However, I find you shallow and without much substance.
You are a liar, a bully, hypocrite, a little boy with a little power.
I figured you out and I only knew you from here for a couple of posts.
Imagine what the people that know you think. Where you shop. Where you get your coffee.
Especially where you tip. Where you buy your supplies and equipment. They snicker, they laugh.
They know you are cheap and opinionated. "You have been weighed and measured and found wanting."
(Been wanting to use that quote for awhile.)
I know you have tried to get me banned on this site. Well maybe this post will do it.
But you will not have won. You can never win. The truth cannot be hidden for long.
The truth has finally been spoken. My words will haunt you forever.
But you have a chance to change now. Now you can start over.
Be the person you always wanted to be. Shhh, shhh. It will be alright.
I should send you a bill for this therapy. Consider it a gift to you.

What you just said here must make sense to you but not to me. A car payment for the rest of your life is cheaper then repairs, you must be hard on equipment.

Yeah It makes perfect sense. I do much the same thing as others do when they lease a vehicle, I just don't have all the restrictions of a lease or contract that a lease involves. I also wouldn't say I was hard on the equipment or vehicle, I don't even drive a whole lot the 2013 only had 6850 miles when I trade up. With the deals they offer today at 0% interest or with all the rebates they offer which in this case was better than the 0% interest it doesn't make sense to me is keep or drive a truck or car for 8 or 10 yrs that's probably going to be ragged out just so I can say I don't have a car payment.

I understand the idea about always doing payments and not putting a cent in repairs.

Honestly, at about 500$/months, that is 6000$/year. Add on taxes, and expensive insurance (you must insure both ways and when you are young, prices are outrageous). That is a lot of money! I don't put that much money on my truck every year! Not many do I think. If you maintain the thing well it will cost a bit, but not 6000$ per year! Unless you do sabotage maybe you can spend 6000$/year. Also, you don't own the truck. You just rent to own. That isn't a good feeling to me.

But, if this makes you happy, that is fine.

The money your talking about is a lot of money I agree but anyone who owns a car or truck that's less than four years old is likely making payments and young or old the prices are outrageous. You say I don't own the vehicle, well guess what I don't own the BMW either, I also don't own my house either and gosh I don't even own my Toro Z Master mower, there all owned by banks, CU or a finance company and I'd guess that the majority of people in this country live the same way.

You have kids ric? When you die you leave them nothing if you don't own. You will leave whomever a lot of debt. That's a gross American consumerism way to live you don't even aspire to own anything. Which means you have nothing you live an illusion of success congratulations

That economical crisis that happened. Part of it was because of some people living in debt. They just lived off payments. They lived paycheck after paycheck.

Companies need capital to roll. No cash = bankrupcy can occur. I have nothing against payments, but there are limits to putting everything on payments.

Ric, use your common sense here. Not many pay a house cash. So, that arugment is irrational.

I don't worry about the kids because I have life insurance for each of them, they'll be in good shape. Besides there better off than me. My kids are in there 40's and I have grand-kids and great grand-kids.

I think the greatest majority of people of this country live in or with some type of debt and your right not many people will pay for a house with cash nor will they pay for a 50 or 60K for a vehicle with cash, that was my point. If you haven't heard most of the middle class in this country along with the lower class live at or below the poverty line and from paycheck to paycheck and finance everything they own because they have no choice.

#38

Lawnboy18

I know the middle class is struggling. I see it. Also the high class is in danger. Some make good money and buy nice cars, boat, house, cottage, clothes, etc. Once they get to retirement, they have nothing but a pile of bills until they die. I am not talking about everyone, but some really need to get there finances straight. I try to pay the most cash. But, if I need to do payments, I'll do it. You need to spend some to make some.

Yes I think more like this, all a vehicle is to me is independence and transportation. I do my own repairs and when I am done with a vehicle its ready for the salvage yard and that is from NY rust, not from needing repairs. Only different is my vehicle's has never made me money but always cost me money.

It is a matter of philosophy
We ran the transport company with only very old, used vans and used motorcycles. The goods in transit don't know if they are travelling in a new Porche or an anchient Ford.
We took it from $ 0 to a $ 3,000,000 /pa company in 6 years in the extremely competitive Sydney domestic market.
When 7/11 happened our turnover stopped dead because advertising stopped dead.
We survived because we owned all our vehicles , radios , phones & depot.
We used the downtime to burn off employees accumulated holidays
Turnovers went down so a lot of landlords pushed up rents to cover their outgoings.
all of the small independant transport companies, running "tax avoiding" highly leveraged & leased gear went to the wall and a lot of good people who were silly enough to allow their accountants to convince them paying tax was a mortal sin, went to the wall, many lost their houses and oft their relatives houses as well, and a few even their marriages & life.

Running large outgoings in any business which is seasonal is fraught with danger should there be successive bad seasons.
Further to that the annual maintenance costs for our vehices were less than the insurance costs of a new one ( $ 2500/pa ).
The interest alone others were paying on their leasing fees each year was about what we paid fo a complete van.
Downside is we always ran 2 spare vans and 2 spare motorcycles so there was zerro downtime for breakdowns, maintenance or major repairs.

The exact same thing happened when Australia imported the GFC from the USA and again our turnover stopped overnight.

I always find it ammusing when i encounter someone who is paying out $ 50,000 / pa in leasing to avoid paying $ 20,000 / pa in tax, then they start whinging about the state of the country.

It is called patience, an entity that seems to be in short supply now days.
You wait and pounce on good deals if & when they turn up.
You watch for cycles and learn when things get cheap & when they get expensive.
We bought most of our delivery vehicles in Feb/March which is the end of the holiday season down here and when most Universities start so there is a glut of "surfie & back packer vans" at that time.
We sold them in December when vans were in highest demand from youths having the long vacation between High School & university and the last minute pre christmass delivery boom.

We started with a glossy magazine publisher then vertically integrated to photographers, stylists ( food, fashion & house ), model agencies , fashion designers, jewellery , cloths, house goods, advertising copy , photo studios, movie production houses, visual editors, video clips, design studios, chop shops and film vaults.
We branched out into limo hire for the same customers and were even thinking about doing location vans & on shoot catering.
I still chauffeur selected celebrity super models when they are town though they are getting on a bit, so not quite as "super' as they used to be.
At one time did every model agency in Sydney except Gordon Charles who did kids.
With the idiot legislation that was around then I did not want to have anything to do with small children wearing underwear ( or less) and since then it has gotten worse.
It is now a criminal offence to photograph children under 12 in a public place, even your own at a sports event, unless you are a certified "child safe" professional photographer.
The original partner was an early starter so he did all the predawn photo shoots at Bondi beach etc and I did all the late night advertising copy to the presses, we ran 24/7 and life was good.
We bought 2 properties in our third year, cash, when we realised that rents would cripple us in the off season.
Accountant had a hissy fit , screamed blue murder when we did it but it was the best business decision we ever made.
We would have folded a dozen or more times had we been rent payers

Also get pally with demolition companies.
I got paid to shift a load of old ride ons to the tip ( dump to some ) by some kids because the real estate agent told them they would get more for grandad's house if the house & shed were demolished and the demolition company would not start work till the house & shed were empty, A chance job we were waiting for some one to meet us to split the work he had on for delivery first thing in the morning.

There is over 100 motorcycles in a mates shed, all came from a rubbish removal contractor over the years for the princely sum of $ 25 each.
Downside is he had to take every motorcycle the bloke came across but he did end up with some really good bikes and some very expensive ( $ 50,000 + ) bikes.

Evilbay sales that end during holidays usually go cheap ( looks like most bid on their work computers ) except for stuff that kids bid on.

The hard part is you have to have the cash sitting there to take advantage when oppertunities arise and not touching the "new ride on money" for 6 months tends to be the hardest bit.

Yea, the more people you know, the better deals you have.

I store all my stuff at a scrap yard and I get some good deals. Got some tires that were pretty much new for 450$ instead of about 1000$. I could probably walk around and find some usefull stuff. I have found some garden tools and road signs. I took those!
