Kohler KT725-3031

I have a Kohler engine KT725-3031 that I can't get to run. I've replaced the fuel pump and carburetor and it will only run with carburetor cleaner for just a second. Fuel is getting to the carburetor, at least to fuel filter.
It has a thermostat assembly 32 755 27-s that attaches to the side of the carburetor. What is that for? Could that be the problem?
 
That would be your auto choke.

Question..Is the solenoid on the bottom of the carburetor operating?

Also I am pretty sure you probably brought an after market carburetor and fuel pump as the carb is $130 from Kohler.
 
May not be battery voltage to the fuel solenoid on the bottom of the carb. Or I have also seen cases where the battery voltage will be present in the key run position but not the start/crank key position. But not continuing to run on carb cleaner makes me think that it isn't receiving power in any on position.
