The answer gets easy. The 25 403 04-s and the 25 755 23-s both supercede to the 24 755 144-s which is the one that replaces both of the regulators that you list. But without the spec number from your engine we can't determine what one that engine had either.

after calling parts tree they gave me the number kohler and after going through the auto system it gave me the address to a local dealer, so i called them and they could not tell me, so they are calling kohler and i'm on hold lol
this is a mess this morning . i called parts tree they list two different Rectifier-Regulator

Kohler 25 755 23-S

Kit-Conversion, FullWave (Incl. Ref.#22,25 452 01-S &24 518 12-S)​

(Superseded to 24 755 144-S)

Kohler 25 403 04-S

Rectifier-Regulator​

(Superseded to 24 755 144-S)​


i'm not sure witch one works ?
Do you have the original regulator? If it's OEM Kohler there is a part number on it.

I use gorilla glue and so far no problems. Polarity is critical and spacing I did with clothes pins.

If you want to make a permanent repair, go to a marine dealer that sells Johnson/Evinrude motors and purchase a flywheel magnet adhesive kit. This is a much better adhesive than JB Weld because outboard motors generally run much faster than the average mower engine and they run for a longer period, so they developed a very strong adhesive to hold the magnets in place (because out on the water, you can't walk home).Trust me, I'm71 years old and have been a marine mechanic for many years. JB Weld is good, but the OMC product is much better, due to liability......
