John Deere Owner Check-In --- Read This First!

Have you ever had a problem that it will not go in reverse?
I bought mine used and it worked great for a while but now it only will go forward, you push down on the pedal and nothing happens.

Got my first John Deere lawn tractor, an LX178. Liking it so far but it does need some work. Looking for a deck and the front plastic. Runs great though.

Aloha, my name is Colin, checking in on this thread as I am new to this site. I am stuck out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. I have a JD LA115, which my dad gave me. He originally bought it from Lowes.

Unlike some, mowing for me is a monthly chore all year round. I don't mind it.
 
OK Here Goes . Hello all I'm another new guy. I like tractors and lawn and garden tractors, any color is fine but think I have a little green in my blood. I mow my place with a JD 777, In the process of restoring a JD345 but when I'm finished it it will not have a plastic hood. Provided it looks like the picture in my mind I'll try to post a picture. Then last week I bought a JD STX38 (yellow deck) Works well needs brakes. Today I bought a NEW (newer sold for use ) JD112 don't know year model yet will have to wait till it gets here and check the Ser.# It sure is Beautiful. Then I have a JD 420, JD A, JD B, JD MC show ready, 2 JD L's, Oliver 55, Oliver 60 row crop, M Farmall, 4 Wheel Horse, Roper RT20, 3 Sears GT's and a NH TC35.
Just like my toys. Thanks for letting me join. Reading the post and replies is very interesting. I'm not a mechanic,but love to try to be one. When I have time to go to the shop and play with my toys the world just seems to slow down and be more peaceful. Thanks Again JWL

Hi Friends,

I just found and joined the forum just now. I had a GT225 until the Sunday before last when the Hydro went in it. Now I have a new 2011 D170. Its a great machine so far with a lot more HP, bigger deck and much improved over the 2001 GT. We are on almost an acre and 25 trees so the fall yard clean up is a chore. I have a DR power vac which on the old tractor worked really well but with the new D170 it works 2 times better. 99% of the leaves are powder now. John Deere in my opinion is the best. I hope to have this for the next 10 years and then get one last one. LOL :thumbsup:
