I have a walk behind mower model HRR216K9VKA with the Honda gcv160 engine. After about 15 minutes of use it starts to sputter and eventually dies. It has a new carb, new air filter, new spark plug and new gas. Still the same issue after all the updates. The mower is not too old and has not had a ton of use. It still looks new. Any ideas would be appreciated?

I had a similar machine and had to drill a vent hole in the fuel cap.
Also make sure your oil level is good, might be shutting it down when it's running via the low oil safety switch

I tried to run it with the fuel cap off and got the same issue. Oil level is perfect.

coil or plug---try changing them out one at a time
Or floating debris blocking off the fuel outlet at the tank
The second it stops spray a SHORT shot of carb cleaner in the carb and crank the engine
Fires right up & can be kept running with short shots = fuel problem
Won't fire = valve or spark problem
Try with some down the spark plug hole
Won't fire = bad plug or coil
Fires once only = valve problem

So here’s an update…I replaced the fuel cap and the problem still exists. I replaced the thermowax choke actuator and the mower started and ran at a very high rpm. Not sure what caused the high rpm but I mowed with it anyway. It started sputtering after 15 minutes like always and eventually died. I’m at a loss now. The only thing I havent changed is the coil. Any other ideas?

The reason why we ask you to do things is so we can make a remote diagnosis
If you don't do what we ask we can only make guesses
So mine will be gremlins

And the secret to handling gremlins is, of course, not to look out the window.

I have been through the steps of each reply. Spraying carb cleaner will keep it running but there is no restriction in the fuel hose. The carb is brand new. Not sure what other fuel problem there could be.

I've gotten new carburators that didn't work well in the past, it's rare but still happens - you surely still have a fuel supply issue or carburation - I know if's frustrating but keep at it
