My comment is moot for this particular project since contact cement apparently saves time, BUT in general for plastics and rubbery parts, I generally use silicone grease vs. petroleum based greases) for less chance of material incompatibilities/reactions.The contact cement took about a quarter of the time to re-assemble in preference to the grease
