Engine GT2050 muffler blowout

Thye muffler on my GT2050 has blowen out , a hole has appeared.. all baffles broken. It has done 130 hours. Has any one had similar problems

130 hours is not enough time to 'burn' out a muffler... That is what normally happens to exhaust components. They weaken from heat and rust/erode to the point of falling apart under normal operation pressure, generally takes a long time...
If you have other problems like back fire conditions that will actually over stress the muffler... You may have sudden failures Not associated with normal operation... :smile:KennyV

Thanks for your reply KennyV The Club Cadet mechanic has not seen this happen before and also suggests that we should lower the engine speed for 30 seconds prior to turning the engine off as it does backfire some times if I dont.
