Hello everyone.
I have an echo arm 225 thats only 6mts old and has been used sparingly because of winter. Now the last 2 times I used it it would not start till i used starting fluid and pulled the string till I had blisters. Now today it won't even stay running after using the starting fluid. Before, once it got started it ran like a champ. Now it will just kick over and die. I have had 3 other echoes that have had no problems and I used them till they just died. But this new one sucks!! Any suggestions?

Echo makes a kit that contains spark plug, fuel filter, air filter fuel lines and all, install the kit and see what happens. Have you pulled the spark plug to see what it looks like, it may just need to be cleaned up and re-gaped. The other alternative would be to take the thing back if it's only 6 months old and get your money back.

Well thank you both for the posts but to have to do things like the replacement accessory kit or even rebuild the carburetor on a 6mth machine is ludicrous! Especially on one that has been used only 4 to 5 times!! I do appreciate the feedback! Time to contact echo!!

The kit was just an alternative, Where did you buy the unit? I'd just take it back and either get my money back or a replacement and I'd definitely let Echo know.

... You let it sit with gas for to long the carb is gummed up. Not echos fault it is yours. It is however probably still under warranty. Get it fixed and take better care of it...

#1 Exotion you have no clue what your talking about because after each use that I used it during the winter I removed the gas and ran it dry!!! I do know a few things!!! I have had echo brand trimmers for 22 yrs!! So please don't jump to conclusions and say "IT'S MY FAULT"!! Next time if you would like more info just ask!!

Either way I would look to the carb as the culprit. Sorry for offending. It's still under warranty take it to the dealer and ask them why it happened some won't tell you unless you ask

Also I am sorry I see people trying to blame the companies all the time. Even years after the original purchase people won't the company to honor the product and pay for all repairs I've seen it a lot lately here and took it out on you. Again apologies

Maybe you did drain the gas but you have a fuel delivery problem. Would be a gummed up carb or filter.
