Drink of choice on a lazy summer day

I like drinking the girly drinks like Sex on the Beach or Long Island Icetea or a hurricane. If it isn't an alcoholic beverage then I like fresh made lemonade or a nice cold coke. Which got me to thinking, what is your drink of choice?

Trader Joe's Iced Tea & Lemonade. Should be classified as an addictive substance.

An ice cold can of Coke! Or a big frosty mug of Iced Tea or Lemonade! Those are my favorite summertime drinks! I love sitting out on the front porch on the porch swing with a book and a cold drink!

Diet Budweiser (Bud Light) - as long as it is in-fact a LAZY summer day!
One beer and I'm done working.

Speaking of canned coke, can I say I hate it. I loved it when you could get it in a glass bottle. Those were the good old days but you could never find the darn bottle opener when you needed to. Also, all of your choices are fine ones. I had to chuckle at the "Diet Budweiser"!

I have to say, my favorite beverage on a lazy summer day would be an ice cold beer! Preferably Heineken. Man...that hits the spot!

Tried the Arizona Diet Green Tea today for the first time ... very good!

I would have to say a cold glass of water with some ice cubes and a hint of mint and lime definitely would hit the spot.

I've never heard of putting lime and mint in water. I may have to try it just to see how it tastes. I've tried water with lemon but I didn't like it very much which is weird because I like water and lemons .

It is actually quite good. You just want to bruise the leaves not completely crush them and it brings out the distinctively minty taste and adds it to the water.

I'd have to say for the most part it's iced tea. I used to make my own, but now it's mostly Arizona with lemon. Other than that, light beer. That used to be Michelob Light for over 20 years, but since they have raised their price into the stratosphere, I swapped them for LaBatt's Blue Light.

Iced sweet tea! Just can't seem to get enough.

Today is the perfect day for this thread... 75 degrees, sunny, slight breeze here in San Diego. Figures to stay like this all weekend.:cool::cool:

Here's to finding a parking spot at the beach. :confused2:

I made an awesome green tea ice tea with lemon and root beer flavoring. It was fantastic, the 2 liters didn't even last the day. Even my son liked it. I made it with splenda too so it was diabetic friendly.

I drink water all the time but if I have to choose something more exciting I'd choose either a Mountain Dew or a glass of white wine. What a combo right?!

I think green tea has high caffene. May be wrong. But a coke zero seems to work fine.

OH I sure HOPE you are Right....
But I'm guessing it's probably not that high in caffeine, So I will continue to supplement with a lot of espresso :thumbsup::thumbsup:

I usually enjoy beer, nothing quenches like a nice cold beer, most days it doesn't even matter the type as long as it is cold it is very refreshing. If I'm going to drink any amount I like Coors.

Black Raspberry flavored Fresca is awesome. I pound down one of those and a glass of water every 30 minutes when I'm working in the GA heat.

My drink of choice on a lazy summer day is i cold frothy root beer. Nothing tastes quite better than a mug of root beer, add in a scoop of vanilla ice cream and make a float and that's even better.

What's a lazy summer day?

Yeah, what's a lazy summer day? I just came in, been raking fresh cut grass to mulch my garden with, making a custom fitted 3X5 foot cover for a basement window well, and preparing to go fix a sliding patio door for a neighbor. And cleaning up and sharpening the tines on my rototiller, making a new downspout to replace the one that my wife stepped on and cracked....etc.

I am scarfing down what is called Old Orchard brand Healthy Balance grape drink. There are other flavors. It is very low in sugar quite very thirst quenching. Stores sell it in the juice section. I never drink soda because this stuff is so much healthier you you. 8 ounces have 8 grams of sugar, and only 32 calories. Best diet drink you can find.

#36

M

Madi

Wow, may have to look into that type of drink. Sounds delicious and very healthy. Do all stores carry it or just specialty type stores?

#37

R

Ross

I know it sounds cliche', but a tall glass of ice cold, homemade ice tea. Maybe it's all of the natural ingredients, but it really his the spot.

The local Meijers and Kroger stores carry the brand. Most likely other large supermarket chains do too.

I think part of the reason I am putting on more pounds is that I consume too much soda (surgary) types of drinks, that does not count the times after a long day when you crack one open either. On a working day, in the sun, water, plain and simple.

#40

M

Madi

If I do consume soda I make sure it is diet, I know that's a whole other debate, but it's better than packing on unwanted pounds from beverages. I also like good old fashioned cold water as long as it has ice.
