Dixie Chopper 2760HP Silver Eagle running poorly-Fixed

This is a neighbor's mower that it and I need help with. Dixie Chopper 2760HP Silver Eagle with no data sticker on it that I can find. I see where there was a sticker under the seat, but it is gone. Nothing on the right frame either. The Emissions Decal has a date of 2/2012. The 27HP Generac Model is 0050584 Disp. 763.0000 Serial Number 8577387 11259 Customer Item 600388.
Starts fine. At full throttle, within a few minutes it starts to surge and as it warms up will pop thru the exhaust.
If I pull the choke out about 1/4 it runs better.
Compression 145 on left bank 150 on right bank
When running, if I pull either plug wire with it running, it runs better.
Thought it was a lean condition causing it. Saw lots of trash in both tanks. Drained both, cleaned trash out, cleaned trash on check valves on the end of the fuel lines in the tank. Replaced all gas lines from both tanks to tank selector, to pump, to pulse on valve cover, to carb, and to expansion tank. Removed and cleaned carb. Was surprised that there was no trash in the bowl. Still runs the same.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I wonder if the exhaust is partially plugged and by removing a plug wire you have less exhaust. You might look at the carbon spark arrestor screen if you have one. See if the exhaust whooshes after you shut it down.

It feels like there is plenty of exhaust coming out of the muffler, but I can check that in the morning. Thanks for taking your time to respond.
This mower hasn't had the best of care thru the years. I thought I would check the valve adjustment on it also. The only specs I can find are for a Generac
engine on a generator. Any idea where I could find the specs for the valve setting for this mower?

Checked gas delivery from tank to carburetor. When everything is cold, there is a good pulse of gas being pushed from fuel pump outlet when spinning over. Checked again when engine warmed up and started running poorly. The pulse signal is weak going to the fuel pump from the valve cover and the gas flow becomes a trickle. The vacuum part of the pulse gets really weak. On the inside of the valve cover with the pulse tube, there is no type of baffle or valve inside. Does this just get its signal from normal operation of the engine? No idea how many hours are on this machine-hour meter not working.
Thanks in advance. Any help would be appreciated.

There is no spark arrester screen and no exhaust whoosh on shut down.

I found an image of the GTV760 005058-4. #4 0G9100 Breather Assembly 0C3005 Gasket
If the reed plate in this breather is not operating properly, could it cause a loss of vacuum pulse to the fuel pump?
Thanks for any help.

Removed flywheel to get to the breather valve assembly. If you blow thru the pulse hose back thru the valve cover, the air comes out in the cavity where the breather valve bolts up. Wish I would have done that, engine off, with a cold and then a warm engine just to see the difference. Breather valve and gasket will be here at the end of the week. Parts ordered thru Dixie Chopper. It appears the new valve assembly has 2 reed plates where the original only has one. Updated part possibly? Will post up results.
