HI.
I have a Craftsman GT6000 (917.288612). I just put two new belts on it, and it was running great. It has been leaking oil for a while. I did the rocker arm covers a couple years ago. I think it must be the oil pan gasket (?). Is that where the top and bottom of the motor come together? There's too much oil, I could never tell where it was coming from. It drips down onto the trans belt pully and on top of the PTO and on the deck . . It was smoking so bad, but I just kept mowing. It was down while I waited on the belts. My grass was so tall, so I just kept mowing. hahahaaaaa I had to add 1/2 quart of oil after mowing one acre. So.... how hard is it to do that myself? I have no clue, but I had no clue about the ground drive belt either. That took me ALL day! lol. I will have to watch 10 YouTube videos, or 20. I think it's 11 years old. My son got it for me when it was like 3. I had to fix the entire steering. Is it worth fixing in your opinion or should I just hang it up? OR any idea how much it should cost to have it done??
Thanks for any input you might have!! :)

More the crankshaft PTO end seal is leaking.

BTW there is no gasket used on the SV735-3022 engine oil pan to crankcase area just RTV.

But to find a leak for sure is to use UV DYE and trace the problem.
