Briggs 19hp regulator

Is everything original? What are the model numbers off of your engine? How many wires are coming from the alt? And what color
are they, as well as the plug?

My regulator is putting out 22dc volts. It seems kinda high should I replace it?

No good B&S regulator will put out 22volts to battery, so are you sure you are reading dc and not ac, if it is dc then replace the regulator.

Part number for that regulator is 691188. but please check yourself to make sure.

NOTE" The proper flywheel part number and/or the alternator magnet size will determine the alternator type or output!!!!
See repair manual for additional information!!!!"

Hence my questions.

I am not sure where you even got this part number.

How could you even come up with any part number without knowing what flywheel and/or alt that he had?

You want him to buy some regulator that you threw up a part number for?

The same engines have differing charging systems, depending on their application. Charging output is dependant on magnet size,
as well as alt size and structure. The end amp/voltages are a product of all of the variables, which is why I ask questions, because I have a big phobia of dispensing bad advice, which clearly doesn't bother some of the guys here!!!!

I hate to tell someone to spend $50 and have it not fix his problem.
