Wow, thanks! I have already replaced the 394 diaphragm and checked the 612 screen. But didn't know about the screw tightening sequence, maybe I messed something up. It's now past mowing weather so I have time to work on it. Thanks again!

I usually take the tank off and drop the tank down on top of the carb & diaphragm to avert the chance of getting the diaphragm & gasket out of place then fitting them
The problem I usually find is the diaphragm is in the wrong place
Replaced the diaphragm, checked for trash in the fuel pickup, all good. Ran somewhat better after this but very rough as if fuel mixture is off. I guess I could replace the carb??
