5 HP Little Wonder

I have a Little Wonder leaf blower with a 5HP Briggs model135212. It will start and run for about 45 minutes to an hour then dies and won't start. Let it set overnight and it starts right up but does the same thing. I took it to a local repair shop and they repaired it. Said they "tightened the head bolts, cleaned and adjusted the carb, and replaced air filter and said it was OK". I was very skeptical and ran it when I got home. Started right up and ran for 45 minutes and died and would not start. Waited about a 1/2 hour and started it up. It ran for 15 minutes. To me it sounds like an electrical problem. I am taking it back tomorrow and would like some expert advice.

I’m in agreement. It sounds like the coil is heating up after a period of time and you have no spark.

Is this correct?

Are you okay with ordering a new coil and setting the proper gap to the flywheel ?
 
Going with a partially dead fuel pump diaphragm. OP is having a timed running issue. Simple lack of fuel delivery.

UPDATE: Returned the unit to the repair shop and they replaced the coil but it did not fix the problem. Now the are saying it is a valve problem. Supposably the exhaust valve is heating up and sticking and not closing. This is beginning to sound like an experiment not a repair. Any comments????
 
Run it till it dies.
Check for spark. If it has spark remove the air cleaner and spray a small amount of starting fluid into carb. Does engine start and run for a few seconds. If yes it has a fuel problem. If no then compression problem and need to remove carb and tank and check valve clearance and head gasket.

Don't use that shop again. Put a negative google review on them for sure.

Simple test to check for spark. They install a new coil with no good result.

Make sure your cooling fins are clean and clear.
