5 HP Little Wonder

If this engine is 5-7 years old, time to break it down and de-carbon the sucka'. Check for sticking valves and lap them in while you are there. This maintenance step is in yours and every other air cooled small engine out there.

Ignore the above and expect cylinder scratching and burning oil. Carbon chunks flake off getting between the piston and cylinder bore.
 
loosen the fuel tank cap. if it dies after that, spray a small squirt of Berryman's B12 into the carb throat and see if it runs. Report back.

Typically this timed failure is trash in the tank or lack of fuel delivery.

Recommend rebuilding the OEM carb with OEM parts.

You said the shop cleaned the carb. That carb has a pilot circuit and are hard to clean. Some have welch plugs blocking off the pilot circuit. None of us knows what clean means to that shop or how they cleaned the carb. Sprayed carb cleaner on the OUTSIDE of the carb body??? Pencil whip the entire cleaning? Sometimes it takes 3-4 cleanings to get them to run right. Times no cleaning can help. Must replace the carb.

Betting fuel pump diaphragm part 394 is the issue?? Could be pilot circuit time. Those are tough to clean out on those carbs.
 
It is called a "Pulsa Jet" carb by Briggs and Stratton. Lots of articles and maybe 30 videos on them. Here are a couple examples. When rebuilding, lay a known flat straight edge on the tank mounting area and verify it is not warped from the mounting fasteners being over-tightened, If it is, it can be surfaced with a mill file and piece of glass with find wet and dry sandpaper on it.
