    Corroded ring terminal, battery cable

I’d replace that terminal and use some dielectric grease or some terminal protectant on it. You could replace the whole cable too if you can source one. At least clean it off for now though.

Boy don't suggest someone to put down their phone...

Asking people in my generation to put their phones down… good luck lol. Heck even my 63 year old dad freaks out when he can’t have his phone.

    Used oil

I just take it to one of the auto parts stores and dump it in the recycling bin. Or sometimes I’ll take it to work and dump it too.

    Let's talk about blade sharpening?

I always just use a file. The only blades I’ve ever sharpened are on my grandmas mower. It’s easier to just wear them out and replace them in my opinion.

    Briggs Trash

Briggs and Stratton are the best engines in my opinion. I go by reliability not how easy it is to find a spec. Kohler is not a preferred brand of mine neither is anything else.

Found a 35 year old toro lawnmower....

Because it’s not a Briggs and Stratton lol. If it’s as unreliable as their cars are then that’s a problem. I will only purchase small engine stuff with Briggs and Stratton engines. That and parts availability.

Found a 35 year old toro lawnmower....

I’d definitely scoop that up but then again I collect stuff like that and have a mower junkyard of ones I got and didn’t need lol. If it run’s definitely. Suzuki engine is a turn off but if it’s been regularly serviced it should be fine.

Toro ss4260 oil change - drain setup !

Doesn’t sound as bad as the mower I was working on over the weekend. It was a Toro zero turn. And even worse it was a Kohler engine Kohler Confidant to be exact. I looked like a total idiot because the YouTube video showed a plastic drain like a traditional riding mower has well get there and...

Sometimes you just have to laugh and go on

I’m young myself and I love old stuff. Perhaps he thought since it was old that it made it worth more. Maybe someone told him what it was worth or what they thought it was worth and maybe it was more than you said lol. Personally I see it being worth more than $25 or $30 but that’s just me of...

    Spark plug

I’d be upset. Those are probably as bad as Torch spark plugs. I’d definitely try to get money back if you bought a Champion one. Watch out buying plugs online. Lots of fakes out there.

Is electric the way to go now?

Yeah that’s exactly what we had to do with the Milwaukee. It was definitely light but too much of a hassle and no fun maintenance lol. The Stihl I bought is a bit heavier.

Can't find manual to determine oil type and capacity for craftsman 247.273430 mower

I think you’ll be fine to run any oil in it really. I run 10W-30 in mine usually. In my Craftsman and John Deere and I haven’t had any issues.

Is electric the way to go now?

My parents bought a Milwaukee weed eater. That thing was total crap and I hate to say that as I’m a Milwaukee guy at heart. It got hot very quickly too. Returned next day and I bought them a Stihl. I advised them not to buy it but they still did then they regretted it. So no electric is not the...

Honda Gas Lawn Mower engines being discontinued

Hate to hear that. I’ve noticed at all the stores there is a lack of all brands gas engines. But I hate to hear this is the last year that Honda will be making them.

Maybe try a bolt and thread it in? I don’t think I’d want to seal it permanently.

Welcome to the Stihl Forum -- Check in Here First!

Hello. I just picked up a Stihl weed eater model number FS 55 RC. It is excellent. Much better than the battery one we got and returned immediately. Also have a vintage Stihl chainsaw from probably the 70s or 80s that I was given by a neighbor whose basement flooded and the chainsaw got wet. It...
