    XT2 Engine Pulley Removal

If the pulley is still serviceable, do yourself a favor and just unbolt the engine and lift it a bit to thread on the new belt. This can be done much quicker than trying to remove the pulley. My pulley got bent trying to take it off with a 3 jaw puller so it had to be removed. If I would have...

    XT2 Engine Pulley Removal

Yep, definitely the method I'd recommend too. My drive pulley was bent so it had to be replaced. I ended up using a 3 jaw puller and then added copious amount of anti seize on the new pulley to prevent this in the future. Thanks for commenting.

    XT2 Engine Pulley Removal

No, the pulley is above the electric clutch. The clutch came off easy. I've updated my original post with what worked for me. Thanks for commenting.

    XT2 Engine Pulley Removal

Not on this model. The belt will in fact have slack using your method but there are guides that are part of the frame that won't allow the belt to be removed (very small gap). Additionally, my pulley was bent so it had to be replaced. I updated my original post on what was successful and a...

    XT2 Engine Pulley Removal

Not on this model. It has guides around the pulley that are part of the frame and won't allow it. Having said that you can do this without removing the pulley by unbolting the engine and lifting it a bit to thread the belt on. My pulley was bent so it had to be replaced. I updated my...

    XT2 Engine Pulley Removal

Update: I was able to remove the pulley after soaking the pulley (from the top) with PB Blaster daily for 3 days and then using heat, air hammer and 3 jaw puller. Completely destroyed the pulley but no harm done to the seals or shaft. I sanded the rust off the shaft with emery cloth and...

    XT2 Engine Pulley Removal

Ugh. Yeah the pulley is already bent so it needs to come off. I've been drenching it with PB which I'm going to keep hitting it with until the new pulley arrives. A post above recommended heating the pulley and not the hub so I'm going to try that and also hit it with an air hammer/chisel to...

    XT2 Engine Pulley Removal

Thanks StarTech. I'm probably going to have to go heat and puller route as I'm not feeling unbolting the engine. Additionally, even with my light use of the jaw puller I noticed I did in fact already bend it a bit so I just ordered a new pulley and plan to do it right with anti seize once I...

    XT2 Engine Pulley Removal

Hi All, Trying to get this engine pulley off so I can replace the drive belt and that sucker is stuck on there pretty good. Any tips on how to remove? I've been trying with a 3 jaw puller but am afraid I'll bend the pulley. Model CC XT2 131QA1CQ010

cub cadet rmc module will not work

What StarTech said. Additionally, since the mower will cut moving forward and the fact that the red light won't come on when putting into "reverse mode", I'd check the continuity of the wire (with a volt meter) from the reverse switch of the RMC module and the seat switch (red/black wire)...

    Help Diagnosing Issue

Hea, Have you replaced the spark plugs or checked them very closely for cracks? I've seen a hairline crack in the ceramic part of the spark plug, start to act up once it gets hot. Also, almost 2k hours on that mower, wow. You've definitely gotten your money out of it, if that's any...

    TROY BILT THERMOSTAT

Rivets, Not questioning you but what does the power connection power up on the thermostat then? To be fair, I'm not familiar with the B&S thermostat but the thermostat on the Kohler series 7000, there's 12v supplied to it. I actually had an issue where it wasn't getting power and the choke...

    TROY BILT THERMOSTAT

Using a multi-meter be sure you're getting voltage to the thermostat as it needs heat and voltage to open properly.

New models SRM-225 doesn't have grease point.

Friends, I bought a new Echo String Trimmer (SRM-225) last year and when I went to add some grease I noticed they no longer have the grease bolt/point on the head. Not sure if this was done so it won't last as long (haha) or if they expect you to take it to a dealer to service. Any thoughts...

Cub Cadet XT1 48" bagging system sucks.

Are you using the mulching blades? If so, you need to use the "High Lift Blades" with the bagging system. I have a XT2 50" 3-bag system and it works great with the high lift blades. Good luck.

Adding to the thought process of ZUE. The Kohler 7000 has the "smart choke" that uses an "air vane" to open up the choke once it starts. You need to pull the shroud and make sure the "air vane" linkage isn't bound up or bent or sticking. One last note to keep in mind. If you do find...

    Kohler 7000 smart choke issue.

With the "Smart" choke system on the Kohler 7000 one important item in the system is the thermostat. What happens is the "Air vane" will partially open the choke once it gets started (due to the wind created by the flywheel). The thermostat will then fully open, and hold, the choke open once...

    XT1 LT50 blades won't engage

"The one thing I notice about "reverse mode" is that the blades don't stop when I get off the seat like they do when I'm in "forward mode" The blades should stop if you get out of the seat with it in "reverse mode". So this might be more info to point to an issue with the reverse switch. You...

    Kohler PS-KT725-3012 just dies

I'd take a look at all the safety switches in particular the seat safety switch. Use a multimeter to check voltages to the switches. Also, check for a broken or loose ground. The symptoms appear more electrical in nature to me vs fuel related but I'm no expert.

XT2 Thermostat issue SOLVED - Troubleshooting info

Hi All, Just wanted to document an issue I recently encountered with my 2016 Cub Cadet XT2 with a Kohler 7000 (KT-735) engine. Symptoms: Mower would intermittently run rough and spew black smoke, sputter and eventually stop running. It finally got so bad it would barely run...

Kholer Courage 22 - new carb - idle perfect - off idle hunting

As slomo mentioned the needle and seat should be addressed on the OEM carb since you stated it was leaking fuel out of the butterfly. If you don't have a rebuild kit on hand there's something you can try in the meantime. On the OEM carb, remove the float needle then take a Q-tip and dip it in...

    Gator Blades for ZT1 50?

I use "Copperhead" mulch blades manufactured by Rotary. They are similar to Gator blades. Item you want is: Copperhead Mulcher Blade 17-1/4" X 6 Point Star MTD https://masterlandscapesupply.com/products/copperhead-mulcher-blade-17-1-4-x-6-point-star-mtd Only caveat is if the grass is wet or...
