Did you inspect belt....stiff or cracked may be the issue or maybe the pulley is loose/worn.

Well that was a self learning experience. Out of 4 recoils in my stock pile....2 were toast...of the other 2 one had metal wings that pop out when you pull the cord and the other was plastic which I can only assume was a knock off. Anyways it will be interesting to see what is on my back up...

Appears to be some whirring noise when I engage the self propel. My first thought was the trans. My other 10525 does not make this noise. I don't believe the grease has ever been checked or changed and was looking to be prepared if I pulled off the cover to inspect. PS - I have never checked my...

Does it have a vented gas cap....plugged?

Or start checking for a cheap used 10515 and swap the engines over. I would also remove the cylinder head and see if the piston is moving when you try to start it. If its a broken rod its probably not worth fixing.

I don't see why not. I have in line fuel shut offs on both of my 10525's.

Unfortunately every site I go to shows a pic of the 89816 upgraded bag with the 3 holed handle and different attachment to the chute.

That's where I got the part # 89816 in my last post. Unfortunately there is no picture of the part and they will not ship to Canada.

Close but mine has no handle. There is just a cloth strap that hangs on the wire frame mounted to the handlebars and the chute has no handle....just a rectangular wire frame built into the end with a slot that the chute clip mounts to.

A week later. Well I guess I know what's going on with both of my 10525's now. Turned on the fuel valve and then a couple of pumps on the primer bulb. Both mowers started on the first pull. Looks like both of them need a needle and seat in the carb. Put it on the list!

New blade does not mean sharp blade. Also. any grass build up under the deck? If yes this will really slow the mower down. Also, are you bagging the clippings? Cut lawn at 3" ....what do you have the wheels set at ? Lots of things can cause bogging including wet grass. Best of luck!

Possibly moisture in the coil itself and heating it up solves the problem.

So this morning....turn fuel shutoff on....prime button once...choke on....starts first pull. So ......tried my other 10525 same procedure and started first pull. So looks like the primer bulb was damaged or I cleared the line of a blockage with pressurized air. Either way I'm a happy camper!

So todays learning. Changed primer bulb and blew out line in case it was plugged. Tried to start no go. Pulled filter and sprayed starting fluid in carb throat. No go. Pulled plug and now its wet....hmmmm. Put in old plug started first pull and lots of smoke.....flooded now? So we will see what...
