They have one where I use to work and it made it really easy to change. Only problem is airing them up. I could take them there and change them, but it is an hour drive one way.

I would try losing the fuel cap to see if the vent is stopped up creating a vacuum in the fuel tank.

You can try taking some paste type toothpaste and lapping the seat with the toothpaste and a Q-Tip. Do you have a pressure tester to test to see if that fixed the problem.

If the bottom of the pump is open, I don't see why you would not be able to do it. Like Star said it will be messy. Put something under the pump to catch the oil.

If it were mine, I would try it. Doesn't look like the wear is in the ring area of the cylinder. I have a FX 1000 I got for free looks about like that that I am going to try to fix.

what kind of fuel line are you using? Need to use Husqvarna fuel line.

Do a compression and cylinder leak down test. What do the plugs look like? Could be a blown head gasket.
