Hey everyone it's been awhile!
That's awesome BK! I could have used your help when we replumbed our basement two weeks ago, but then again we went the easy route .
Changed all of the galvanized over to PEX. We had so much rust coming out of our pipes making the tub red and having to use rust out every week. We had put in an iron filter a few months ago and and it didn't help at all, then realized the water out of the softener was good, but it was the pipes causing all of the problems.

It was a long day, but it was the time to do it before we finished the basement, all of the pipes were easily accessible. Now our water is actually drinkable from the tap and our tub stays white!

Anyways, glad to see everyone again

Old galvanized pipes will always discolor the water, copper rarely builds up deposits enough to discolor the water.

Yea some of the pipes that we tore out had black stuff dripping out, ewwwww
Thought about copper, but it is so dang expensive and takes a lot more effort to install. A lot of plumbers have been going to pex and shark bites, so that is what we did and it worked great!

Re: Front Porch

It had been a couple months since we had enough rain to make the rain gauge move any. Strange that the grass kept growing (not quite as fast, but more than you would think). Just a couple days ago, we got under 0.2" and 25 miles north they got over 7" in a couple hours . I don't want that much all at once, but it would be nice to get it over a few days . I'll settle for the 1 1/5" and more expected later in the week (if we can believe the weather people ).

Hope all the drama over language police is nearly over !

I was helping my brother and nephews with roofing all last week and was so tired upon getting home I didn't mow, and of course it rained all weekend....grrrrr.

About the "language police", what a stupid waste of time, making such a big frickin' deal about HTF I worded a thread. MORONS is too kind a word to describe them and their ilk. CRETINS may be a better term. I personally don't give a flying, flipping, BLEEP what words are posted on this or any other forum. I am a big boy, I have been called names that would make a sailor blush, a little cussing isn't going to make me avert my eyes and babble "Oh, you can't say that HERE" because it's not my place to censor LMF.

CRETINS may be a better term. I personally don't give a flying, flipping, BLEEP what words are posted on this or any other forum. I personally don't care how you word anything, but I always try to respect other people and their wishes, but I think this situation is different.

If I am in a situation with someone where they don't have the choice/option to move away and I'm cussing up a storm and they would prefer me not to do that, then I would want to respect their requests. If a parent wants me to not say any vulgarities around their child, then so be it, they have the right to ask me to stop and I should respect their request.
In the case of LMF, every person has the right to read or not to read a specific topic. If it offends you, then don't read it! It is not as if every thread on LMF is full of vulgarities and most of the words are "bad" because YOU make them bad. My wifes parents used to not allow them to say "poop", it was then seen as bad in the kids eyes because their parents made it that way. Growing up around a lot of farmers, they all say s_ _ _ for manure and it is a correct term. Nothing wrong with it, it is a part of their vocabulary and that is what they use. This goes with every other word. I grew up in a "clean" home where we didn't use any swear words, but I have no problems with it. Going to college there were home schooled kids who were so sheltered that they would leave a class when the topic of sex (made them uncomfortable) would come up or if people would swear. Ridiculous in my mind, but whatever. We all have different ways we use words, but we all have choice. So if you are offended, I apologize once, will try to be more conscious of it, but you can leave or not read my posts if you have a problem with it. You can not partake in using "bad" language, you don't have to agree with it, but you CAN accept it and move on.

Overall the threads on LMF are very clean, very well maintained and the members of LMF are a great group. Don't put a black mark on it because you can't learn to accept the diverse opinions and backgrounds of its members.
