You can however go to a radial instead of a biased ply tire, that will help the tire life. Our tandem trailers were chewing through the rear tires when they were bias. Now we run radial and we get two seasons out of them vs. one with the bias.You should replace your tires with the same size and load range tire that's on it when it was purchased new. Your trailer just like your truck is set up for the GVWR.
