that is why you dont buy a john deere! a guy that i know that owns a huge lawncare business his engine melted like that but he had a fire extinguisher in his truck so he put it out before it could melt anything else. john deere said he probably spilt gas on the engine when he refueled it. but he takes great care of his machines and i highly doubt he didnt wipe up the spilled gas if he did spill it. and it was a ztr by the way. not sure of the specs.

I would do some research and find out if others have gone up like this.
