I love my 2008 60" ZT with a 26hp B & S. It has 1200 hours on it, and runs like new. But, often it blows the main fuse. It seems like sometimes, when I pull the right lever back that it blows. It did not do it yesterday during 2 hours of mowing. I pulled back on the right lever figuring it would blow the fuse, but it did not. I have worked the control lever, and studied the wiring harness. I cannot see anything that would indicate a short. I have replaced 12 fuses during the last year. This is not a problem unless I am a long way from the house. Have any of you tried towing a ZTR? I have learned to carry fuses now. Just wondered if anyone has had this problem. I would appreciate any suggestions.

The problem is with the regulator
When you pull back on the stick, the throttle opens up , the alternator produces more power and that blows the fuse.
Usual culprit is the rectifier plug, the rectifier ground or the fuse holder .
All of them suffer from moisture and thus corrosion.
