Is there a generic alternative to the 7075031 handle dampener?
Looks like it is a Stabilus Lift-O-Mat 2947MD.

I suggest you take some dimensions and search Ebay or Amazon for toolbox lid shocks or dampeners. I am sure the dampeners you are looking for were designed for multiple applications.

GREAT NEWS! I found a Stabilus 5B-5218KW (at Rock Auto $11 each!) that is a bit longer than the original, but it does work. I had to get some bushings for the mounting ends. But it works great!
