Mower sat outside all winter (Texas), mower will not move fwd. or rev. Jacked the back wheels off the ground and the wheels will move fwd. and rev. Could this be a sign that the transaxle is low on fluid? Why does the brake pedal not engage the brake/stop the mower?

Goin to need some history on this machine also model etc. There are bypass levers to take the transmissions out of service - maybe they are engaged ?

It's good to diagnose one thing at a time.
If your mower sat out uncovered all winter, your brake linkage could be stuck and will probably need to be freed up. Some lube spray or white grease is regular maintenance. Located your manual or download one online. It's amazing what you can learn from it.

Firstly there is no manual Husqvarna do not make them
Secondly yes you are probably correct that the brake could be stuck on, if it is an external dry brake but the YTH models are all wet brakes AFAIK

Greg.
What do you mean by brakes do not engage ?
The parking brake locks the diff so the wheels can only turn in opposite direction.
This is why the brake action is sudden death.
Now it could be that the brake lever on the transmission has rusted into position & might need a tap rearwards to free it up

Viscosity is about 10/15. Does it look like it it has water contamination?
