You can find a kit on say propartsdirect for just one to throw out there. They have zama carb kits. Call propartsdirect. Should have a toll free number.

Thank you - contacted Zama for the information and they gave me the rebuild kit number which I ordered - waiting for it to arrive - I hope they were right 😜

Should be a Zama C1Q-H17 kit for it. Here is a link to the, what I believe to be, correct kit. If not, use this page to help you and you can contact them as well.

Contact Leon at Leon's Homelite/chainsaw store. He is a Homelite specialist....very knowledgeable....he will steer you in the right direction. Before you contact him, search Leon's YouTube videos....likely he will have a video on the carb on an XL. I just rebuilt 2 XL's with new kits....they both run great.

Homesite XL chain saw - no other numbers/model/unit number/serial number
16” bar

Ran out of fuel, primer bulb cracked, replaced bulb, refueled it, it would start and die out

Replaced both fuel lines from primer bulb
Did not replace fuel line with filter on it (it held vacuum)
Did replace the fuel filter while it was apart
Replaced air filter (which was deteriorated)

Starts on primer but getting no fuel to remain running - what’s my next move, please

Fuel is mixed properly and freshyou take out the spark preventer screen by the muffler?

Might be a crack or pin hole in the fuel line letting in air. Happened to me. Ran great with a full fuel tank, crack submerged, but once the fuel level went down it started sucking air.

Thank you, I will look at his YouTube first - I got a new kit for it, just haven’t had time to work on it - lights started going on in my GMC Sierra 😖
Just another challenge when life was too smooth 🤪
