Wood floor for trailer

Really a difference of 50-100lbs won't be very noticeable, use what you have and fits your budget, 2" is abit over kill but makes it pretty easy to swap out a plank If it breaks

I agree a difference of 50-100lbs may not be noticeable on some trailers but with a 5x8 it could make a difference. The 5/4 would be enough for a 5x8 trailer and it would be half the cost to replace.

I agree with you Ric unless he already has useable wood, that would be my route , also it would be worth stoping in at your local mill, generally priced better then the building centres

Well here is the result with 2x10. Just need a 2x4 in the middle to finish. It's treated wood but i painted to insure it will last. Made a angle cut to help riding up on the wood and the ZTR cellars with no touching.

I can tell the difference in weight by pushing it around.

I can tell the difference in weight by pushing it around.

Should have spaced those more wouldn't need the 2x4 and would help with debris and water

If you really wanna keep weight down, only add 2 strips on each side for the mower wheels, leave rest open mesh.
