I have a Wheel Horse 310-8 with low oil indecator light, and I need a starter for it [I think the model number of the engine is K805] Kohler 10 horse. If any body knows if this is the right model number of this engine please let me know. Thank You

The 310 was made 1985 to 89 and came with a Kohler single cylinder Magnum 10. You should be able to find the all engines numbers on a tag on the flywheel cover if it is still there?? This is one heavy duty engine.

Check that you are getting 12 volts AT the starter while it is ON....
If there is less voltage, it could easily be: a bad cell in the battery, a bad cable connection or a Bendix hanging up on the end of the starter... :smile:KennyV

If the starter turns on but doesn't engage it could be a striped gears or bad bendix. Time for a new or good used starter.
