Friend has 3 acres of flat lawn,has about 1500 to spend on a mower,tractor any ideas on one that would last ,his last one was a power king Kohler engine,Does anyone know about the case 444

If you are cutting 3 acres once a week, you are going to have a hard time finding a mower that is going to last very long for around $1500. In that price range they are not built for that amount of work.

I don't think that's entirely true you can easily get a small tractor and with proper love and care can get it to last a long time.

I would look for used make sure you spend enough you can get it professionally tuned at a small engine shop and if you take care of it I think it will last a while. I am kinda getting tired of my local dealer every time I go in there he is making someone with an small budget pay more than they want to yes its a better machine but its also unnecessary.

hi, I have the low end cub cadet I got for $1500, no matter what everyone says, they are fine, I use it on two hilly achers a week, also I would think about a good used lawn tractor, they are built much better and should withstand the work load if you are lucky enough to find one

I have a cub cadet 1040 I cut 60 plus yards a week with it so lets say 35 acres a week
After 2 months and over 300 hours I just today had to change a deck belt.
I paid $1200 from the dealer

For a home owner cutting 3 acres a week get a mower like this and you will be fine. Just change your oil Keep air filter clean. Buy a small grease gun and put some in every fitting once a week or when ever it gets wet.

Lots of guys on here will say you can't cut more then a 1/4 acre a week with a riding mower they are the same guys that don't take care of there mower or buy the biggest one they can find just to say the have one.

(( racing is the only sport that you need two balls ))

I tend to agree with Rivets on this one finding a mower that is going to last very long for around $1500 is going to be hard to do but as Carscw said I and I agree, taking care of the machine and preforming the maintenance required can carry you a long way but I wouldn't say or look to have the machine very long before problems start to nickel and dime you to death, it's just the nature of the beast.

Proper maintenance is key my friend. I started out using non commercial products due to the cost. I did okay, but I you have to really take care of them. I like Toro or Scag.
