What outdoor tools don't you own or need ?

Since this is a lawn mower forum, it's a pretty good assumption that everyone has some sort of lawn mower. Most of us have the need for other types of outdoor tools, but I was wondering what types of tools do we not own because we have no need for them. The tools that I don't own and don't ever expect to need are as follows:

Snow blower - Hardly ever snows here and only a few inches when it does.

Hedge trimmer - Don't have any hedges.

Tiller / Cultivator - Don't have a garden.

Stump Grinder - Removed the only two stumps I had with a crowbar, sledge hammer and chainsaw.

Portable Generator - I can reach any part of my property with a 100 ft power cord from a power outlet in my house. All corded power tools are 110 Vac single phase and 15 A or less.

What tools don't you own or need ?

I don't have a....

  • Tiller-We DO have a garden but we just use our neighbor's tiller in the spring.
  • Stump Grinder-When we had a tree removed we just payed the company to remove the stump.
  • Portable Generator-We don't lose power often and they can be expensive.

I don't own a chainsaw and would have no need for it on my property, but I could MAYBE use it in my business.

Yeah I don't own an aerator either...but it might be something I will think about buying or renting for awhile. Because there is this guy who does aerating in the spring and fall for people and he is the only one who does it in the neighborhood so I might steal some of his business!

Just ask people at the end of fall and set them up for spring and rent it for a day the place I go through is 75for 24 hrs I usually make about 500 in that day so 425 profit minus gas and bleach :) good profit

I'm ashamed to have to ask - is the bleach to "sanitize" the aerator cores between each use, or just to clean before/after renting? I hadn't thought about using it, either for weed seed or fungus spores or whatnot. But, hey, that's why there's this forum, for humility lessons!

Between jobs :) no need to spread annoying weeds or disease to other peoples houses...I.e bent grass, moss, faerie rings, nacrotic ring spots, blight and soooo many more I would rather not encourage these things on lawns I take care of

Thanks! I thought that would explain it, and of course, taking along your own hose is terrific good business sense.
