I got a 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe ,350 ,4 wheel drive. It only has 100.000 miles as it was the fire chef truck for the city and well maintain. It has the factory towing package with all the trailer wiring and a 8,000 pound class 5 hitch.
I have never owned a 4 wheel drive but it has come in handy a few times and pulls a big load of mulch with no problem.

We've got three, mine is a 2008 Toyota Tundra Double Cab SR5 with the 5.7l V8, my partner drives a 2006 Ford F350 Crew Cab with the 6l Powerstroke Diesel, and our other truck is a 2006 GMC 3500 DRW, I think has the 6.2 in it, it also has a 8' dump body on it.

I use my 97 dakota 4x4

Man, that truck looks solid.

I'm used to seeing old vehicles in Michigan that are nothing but rust buckets.

Thank you sir! Living in the south we typically dont have to worry about rust very much.

Buy a trailer. You can tow it behind any kind of vehicle. You can get them under $300 brand new if you want to put one together. I've run a pressure washing business from behind a '72 Impala convertible. Customers don't care what you drive as long as the price is right, the job gets done and you don't leave a dead car in front of the house.
Not only are trailers handy, if you get a covered one they're secure against theft (if you remember to lock the door) and it keeps everything out of the weather AND the garage.

I run a F350 single rear wheel 4 door long bed 4x4 with rail boxes and front box. The tool boxes allow me to carry a chain saw climbing equipment bar oil etc in one box. Blades, belts, extra oil and a case of 2cyl oil with tools to fix anything within reason in the field. The front box has straps, chains, a come along and some specialty treatment chemicals in it. This truck typically has the dump trailer and sometimes my mower trailer behind it.
I also run a Chevy 2500 standard cab no frills just A/C and cruise control that serves as my mowing truck and pulls a 18' landscape trailer with 2 ZTRs a walk behind a push mower 2 string trimmers, 3 blowers and a stick edger. I've a shell on the back of it that i keep 4 5 gallon cans of gas in extra oils straps in blades belts etc.
