Hi

Does any one know the head bolt tightening sequence on a Briggs 15.5 HP engine? I found the torque settings.

Thanks

The sequence is about the same on any single cylinder. I just tighten in 3 rounds. Start at one bolt and snug it up...then go to the opposite one, do the same. Skip a bolt and do it and its opposite. Skip another bolt etc. and finish up the 1st round. Then tighten about 1/2 the torque on the 2nd round. Then do the final...FULL TORQUE on the 3rd round. That will prevent any over-tightening on the 1st round and warp it. Good Luck. It's no big deal really. When I worked at SEARS, I don't think any mechanic in the shop hardly used a torque wrench and they all went out to the customers.
