on a Briggs. 287707 0255-01 came in with the brass fuel inlet out of it. The inlet doesn't seem to go all the way in it. So, I'm guessing it's not the correct one.
Is there a way to fix this? I haven't seen a parts diagram where the inlet is separate from the carb. Only the plastic cap that fits over the inlet
He brought an extra carb that still has the inlet in it. But the brass was buggered up and had some sort of brown gasket maker stuff packed in and around it. I'm pretty sure a new plastic elbow/cap isn't going to fit on this. It's had a pair of steal pliers around the brass.
How they got the old one off is not easy, as they are normally non removable. I suggest that you do a google search for Briggs fuel inlet fitting. There are a variety of ones that may fit.

Its that easy. Put some locktite or other sealant around the brass part and start it into the carb at the correct angle and then use your vise to press it into place. You can't drive it in because it will break and you can't rotate it after being installed because it will crack and leak.

I feel stupid now. And I have no excuse. Looking at the diagram, like 3 times, and didn't see it until just before I posted that.

One of these carbs has a pilot jet, the other it's plugged. So it there no pilot jet on the one's that's capped off? This eliminates being able to drill out the pilot to keep it from surging.
I got lucky and found one that had a nozzle in it. It must be a newer style, because it's longer and made into the carb. It works though. At first, it poured gas, but I got it cranked and ran it for a little bit. Shut it off and watched it for about 10 minutes and nothing was coming out. Put a shut off valve on it, just to be safe.
I suppose that's why the every EPA employee and their bosses all drive electric cars that they charge with bicycle type generators.

Low idle cough. It does it at high idle, just not as bad?
Did I not clean out something? Before I put the breather covers and air filter back on, it would cough back out of the carburetor.
At the 3, 11 and 14 second marks.

Can be an intake manifold air leak if more like a sneeze. Didn't view youtube video as youtube is blocked here.

The walbro was running too rich. After about 20 minutes the plug was already coated.
Just for funzies, I put a rebuilt and then a new nikki carb on it. And it only ran on choke. I think that means it's not getting enough gas.

You do know that just because two Walbro looks the same that they can be jetted differently don't you?
