Victa mower with battery start has a failed battery. Is there a way to bypass it? Briggs and Stratton engine.

Battery is only used to power the starter motor and not needed for the mower to run.
So just pull the rope
A replacement battery from an alarm shop or electronics shop will be cheaper than the genuine Victa one .
Battery from one of the specialists battery shop will be even more expensive.

Thank you. This one doesn’t have a pull start option. Will try the specialist battery shop

Not aware that there were electric only models but I don't see many newer mowers
The battery pack is that same as used on Victa branded chainsawa , brushcutter & blowers .
Victa make none of these things and they will most likely be rebadged Oregon tools as Briggs owns Victa and also bought the distribution rights to all Oregon products in Australia, then failed myserabley to get them into retail outlets
No one goes to Bunnings to buy a $ 300 battery chain saw when the house brand is $ 99.
The sales of all Oregon products has dropped like a stone since they took the distribution from Roy Gripskie & Sons who are the largest supplier of mower parts in the country by a very very long way.
The other option is to google "Battery repackers ", if you are near one of the major cities there will be a repacker who puts new cells into the old case for about 1/2 the price of a replacement.

I may have sent you down the wrong path in the previous reply as I was thinking of the old system that had a rope & used this battery .
That is a standard gel cell available all over the place .
If you are desperate I can rent you some Alpacas really cheap

On the subject of Bunnings , Miter 10 etc.
You can take your old battery to one of those shops and try it in the display battery power tools.
If they fit & the voltages are the same then they will go in the mower.
Battery power tools are the biggest con job ever and a battery start petrol mower is even worse.
Stop making the battery and the owner is forced to replace the mower .
