B bertsmobile1 Lawn Royalty Feb 21, 2016 #2 Simplist way to avoid the backfire is to clos down the trottle for 30 seconds before shutting down or fitting an inlne fuel tap and stop the engine by starving it. Those solenoids are more trouble than they are worth and they are worth a lot.
