I was wondering if anyone knows the proper valve lash on a 15.5 briggs? I saw somewhere that the intake was a thousand or two larger than exhaust and i saw that both were set at .004 any input would be great. also it said set them a 1/4" past dead center past top. thanks

Assuming OHV single cylinder then the valve clearance will be 0.03"-0.05 inlet and 0.05-0.07" for exhaust.
Always set clearances with piston quarter past TDC on power stroke.

Think I have it sorted but unfortunately I have rung the center torque lock nut
Any idea where I'd get one
Checked briggs parts but cant find it

I believe you are referring the to screw in the adjuster. Briggs only sell it in a kit.

Nothing special about it, it is just a grub screw with a torqz hole in place of a std hex hole .
Just remember you adjust with the nut and lock with the screw which is the opposite to all other engines .
