I picked up a used Toro 22” Recycler model 20332 serial 313040024. The transmission was not working correctly. As you look at the photos you can see someone was in the transmission before. I would like to find a parts diagram for the inside of the unit as I think the issue is they reassembled it incorrectly.
On the long axel side I could see the plastic gear on the actual wheel was ground down. It also seems like that axel would not turn or would lock up.
On tear down I noticed the following:
1. You can see new sealant on the plastic housing (someone has been in hear before)
2. I “think” one or both metal washers were in the bottom of the housing (or I did that when I pulled the axel…). I did notice a pin partially popped out of its “hole” on first disassembly.
3. Look at the 3rd picture and focus on the “white” spiral gear”. Notice there are “nubs” on both side of that gear. Also notice one side seems to be larger than the other. I don’t think this is a wear issue. Seems like it was made this way. I think the black 2 gears on both sides might be different and need to be switched. As I observed it turning it appears those black gears get pushed out to turn the axels. The side with the issues seemed to not push out.
Again, I would like to see a parts diagram and see what it shows. I can only find diagrams and photos of the complete transmission.
