Toro Recycler Guaranteed to Start - Not

I noticed that the spark plug wire could interfere with the linkage for the choke. I made sure that is is not interfering and shall try it probably later in the week. A repair shop noted 25lbs compression and replaced the needle and seat. They said that it did not clear the problem.
 
That is a short coil wire. Wonder if it is the correct part? Or someone shortened it looking to renew the connection? Looks suspect.

How about pictures as in plural of the entire carb linkage, carb and so on?

Is the valve cover leaking like it is? Maybe someone just checked the valves and didn't clean up the oil mess?
 
I’d just get a can of stater fluid. Hit it with a shot of starter fluid and call it a day.

I think you have a Honda GCV 160?

It can be tricky with the choke options

If you tip it up on its nose for a minute and then it will start with one pull. Sounds crazy but it works!!!1

I had to do this too on a similar mower. I finally removed the the 'convenience' loop that holds the pull handle up near the other controls so the handle retracts all the way to the motor. Pulling from the motor allows you to spin the motor more and mine will start usually on the first pull, without starter fluid.

Probably never had any maintenance done. Cooling fins all packed up with debris. Valve clearance inspection I know what is that. LOL

Hi Slomo,

But the 10+ year old faded/peeling sticker on it says so. LOL. Probably has the original oil in it with a sticker says to "only add oil if low" and the engine has no drain plug.

Suppose to have a Loncin 1P65FC engine if it is the original.

The thermal control on the muffler and verify it is free moving and returns to its stop; otherwise, replace it.
