If you tip it up on its nose for a minute and then it will start with one pull. Sounds crazy but it works!!!1I have an older Toro Recycler mower the is tough to start when cold. Sometimes I try a dozen pulls, then I squirt some gasoline into the carburetor and it starts. Is there any way to add a primer into the engine for cold starts?
I had to do this too on a similar mower. I finally removed the the 'convenience' loop that holds the pull handle up near the other controls so the handle retracts all the way to the motor. Pulling from the motor allows you to spin the motor more and mine will start usually on the first pull, without starter fluid.I’d just get a can of stater fluid. Hit it with a shot of starter fluid and call it a day
Hi Slomo,Don't be harsh on the engine too fast. I bet when new it was a one pull superstar.
Probably never had any maintenance done. Cooling fins all packed up with debris. Valve clearance inspection I know what is that. LOL
Suppose to have a Loncin 1P65FC engine if it is the original.I’d just get a can of stater fluid. Hit it with a shot of starter fluid and call it a day.
I think you have a Honda GCV 160?
It can be tricky with the choke options
