Hi folks.
Mower hasn’t ran for a while. Prime the carb and it fires up and runs then will slow down and then stop. Tried loosening off the fuel cap incase it was a vent fault but no difference. Cleaned fuel system and carb but still the same. Noticed no fuel
Coming up when primed so decided to change the carb but still the same. Also removed the exhaust incase that was gummed up.
Anyone had similar and came up with a cause please. Thanks all. 🙏🔧

Disconnect the fuel line at the carb and check for flow of gas, could be fuel filter or bad gas line.

The carb and fuel pump system probably need to be cleaned and rebuilt. Make sure that if there is a fuel shut off valve on the mower, that it is in the on position. If you aren't comfortable rebuilding a carb, take it to your local mower shop. Fuel can leave a nasty mess when it sits for a long time in a small engine.

Thanks for the suggestion but it’s a new fuel line and carburettor so just wondering where to go next?

Thanks for the comment. It’s a new Carburettor and fuel system was cleaned and flushed. It’s got me stumped?

Still sounds like a fuel problem. Take the air filter off and start it up and just as it's starting to slow down to stop spray alittle starting fuild in the carb and if it picks back up in speed it's still a fuel problem.

Thanks and appreciate the comment. Tried that as well and even pushed the primer a few times but still dies. Now thinking if it’s a sticky valve but would expect to hear popping back through the carb or exhaust. It’s certainly putting me through my paces.

First, did you buy the carb off FleaBay or Altozon? If so the experienced tech will tell you that they have found your chances of getting the right carb are a crap shoot. Will fit on your engine is not the same as the right carb for your engine. Second, after cleaning the original carb, did you double check that the float level is parallel with the carb body or slightly lower on the side opposite the float pin? Third, when you post back please include all engine numbers and the part number for the new carb you purchased.
