I have a 60” zero turn that keeps blowing 30 amp fuses. It just started doing this after sitting a month. My guess from reading some other forums might be a bad pto clutch but I just replaced the clutch so?? I ordered a new solenoid thinking that was it because I can short the solenoid and it turns over. Doesn’t start but turns over. It still blows fuses even after installing the new solenoid. There is snow on the ground and it’s below freezing. I can’t use it but want to fix it. It’s in an outside shed and need to wait till it gets a little warmer to work on it. But want to see if there are things other than the solenoid that I should be looking at?

You got a short in your shorts. PTO will not the fuse even it is shorted if the PTO switch is off. It more likely you either a short in the kill circuit or have a carburetor fuel solenoid shorted. May be cause by mice chewing on the wires. Now if only blow the fuse in start position it still can be a chewed wire, the starter solenoid, or the Flyback diode. This where you need be looking a short with a tester.
Very cool!! This is what I was looking for!!! Thank you for this and the tips! When it gets warmer (up into the 30s??) I can go out to the shed with my multimeter and try to trace it down. And no mice in this shed. The fiberglass roll down door is pretty tightly closed. Never had mice in there in 10 years
