Hi guys,
Just had this mower apart to install a new belt as the self propelled drive did not seem to be working well...runs fine now and the wheels drive, but there's an awful grinding noise coming from the rear left wheel...especially on a slight slope when thats the downhill wheel. Took the wheel off and the large gear and the drive gear seem in good shape with sharp teeth edges.....the only thing I can think of is the wheel bearing may be causing a wobble leading to them not engaging properly??
My thought is to take the same wheel off my Toro 20055 and try it....at least that will tell me if its the wheel.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks

Wheels are not interchangeable. If the drive gear and wheel gear are in good condition, I suspect the the bearings are going. Need to replace three parts, bearing hoc, bearing and bushing. I’ve attached a site to look up the part numbers and a service manual for toro drive systems to help you out. If it came to me I would recommend that you do both sides.

Thanks Rivets,
Just so I'm clear....the parts you refer to are 5,6,and 7 in the parts diagram??
