Please use a good quality battery cable that has copper inside of it. This is pic of a battery cable with aluminum inside of it. Its a Raptor 8 gauge battery cable.
I find it very hard to find bulk copper battery cable. Worst yet is to find red cable for the positive side. All the parts stores around where I live only have cables with the ends made on them. They are just too expensive. I like cutting my own cables to length and then I solder new ends on them. One place I found my last battery cables is I bought a set of battery jumpers and I cut them up to make battery cables. I always am on the look for copper core battery cable.
All part houses I order carry it in 25ft lengths and its copper.
I always get mine from napa they are always copper.... And they cut to .length
The NAPA in my area in NY the only way you are going to buy battery cable is by the cable with ends on it and in black only. Been there and tried that. I have tried auto parts stores and equipment dealers. Now just what do you mean part houses? I will give them a try. 85 dollars for 25 foot I don't call cheap. The best way I have found so far is battery jumper cables.
Stens, Rotary, and Oregon have the battery cable in 10ft and/or 50ft. You should get a business license and get Stens credit card account.
You have it right a business or tax number gives a lot better buying power. I had all that at one time. As soon as I did away with it and pay the sales tax when I buy parts with cash things change. Yes I do get a small discount but its not whole sale but closer to retail. This is all OK with me because its not a full time business and I don't pay any taxes. I charge more for parts and less on labor. After a job the money go's in my pocket with no paper trail. No signs or advertising, word of mouth only. Its a retirement thing nothing more. Just how do you think I have all this time to be on this forum, its sure not working in my shop.
